Finding My ‘New’ vision
I knew of laser vision correction after one of my friends underwent the procedure back in 2010 when it was very new in the country. I had been using glasses for the last 13 years and aesthetically I did not like glasses, they were becoming cumbersome professionally in that during my theater procedures they would keep sliding down to my nose bridge and consequently need an assistant to keep adjusting them for me as well as I felt in the long term it was cheaper not using glasses.
I therefore began looking up places where I could successfully and safely have the procedure done and having been trained by both Professor Ilako and Dr. Kimani I knew I could trust them with my eyesight so I booked an appointment at eagle eye.
First things First
During the consultations an assessment of my eyesight was done to assess my suitability to the procedure, I aired my concerns and fears including my YouTube and social media research as well as a genuine fear of what if it goes wrong and I lose my eyesight which were adequately addressed. I was given the advantages and disadvantages of both lasik and PRK laser eye surgery. We opted for PRK laser eye surgery which was done a year ago now.
Getting My ‘New’ Vision
The procedure was literally under 5 minutes (at least that’s what it felt could have been less) and painless. I was asked to tell the time on a wall clock prior to the procedure (of course I couldn’t) and immediately after the procedure the miracle and joy of being able to tell the time on the clock without needing my glasses
The post-op instructions were then repeated ,I was given painkillers, antibiotics, artificial tears and steroids and some pretty cool sunglasses to assist with photosensitivity and the best part of their post-op management was that they print out in detail the post-op instructions which is really helpful to the caregiver during the recovery period as well as being available on call following the procedure.
Achieving 6/6: The 20/20 equivalent
Now I am pleased to say I have awesome vision ,6/6 and I would definitely recommend laser eye surgery to anyone. I personally don’t think of it as a cosmetic procedure but a life needed therapy to anyone who would like the procedure and eagle eye is a premium center to have the procedure done, there’s professionalism, excellence and personalized VIP care for all their patients.
