Dr. Kahaki Kimani is a seasoned Ophthalmologist and Eye surgeon with over 22 years of experience and specialization in Comprehensive Ophthalmology. Naturally, she is a board-certified ophthalmologist and additionally, a fellow of the College of Ophthalmology of Eastern Central and Southern Africa (COECSA).
As a comprehensive ophthalmologist,Dr Kimani offers extensive clinical expertise,with specialty focus on cornea disease and Laser Refractive Surgery and has performed over a thousand eye surgeries successfully.She is a leading ophthalmologist in the treatment of retinoblastoma as well as other eye cancers. She is actively involved in research and has authored over 20 publications in peer reviewed journals.
Dr.Kimani holds a rewarding professional life of service as Founding Partner and Senior Ophthalmologists at Eagle Eye Laser Centre and a Senior Lecturer at the department of Ophthalmology, University of Nairobi. She is the chair of Zizi Afrique Foundation board, a non governmental organization committed to improving learning outcomes in children and youth furthest behind.
She is held in high regard for her work and research,towards improving the survival of children with Retinoblastoma in Kenya and is credited for her contribution in setting up the Kenya National Retinoblastoma Strategy and putting together the Kenya National Retinoblastoma Best Practice Guidelines.
